The film co-starred Sophie Okonedo as Paul’s wife, Tatiana Rusesabagina. Cheadle spoke passionately about the challenges and responsibilities of portraying such a complex and morally driven character. He delved into the extensive research he conducted to accurately depict Rusesabagina’s experiences and the emotional toll it took on him.

He touched on the film’s critical acclaim and his Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Okonedo also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and the screenplay for the film, co-written by director George and Keir Pearson was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
The conversation then shifted with Cheadle reflecting on his involvement in Ocean’s Eleven (2001), a star-studded heist film directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film is a remake of the 1960 Rat Pack film of the same name. Cheadle portrayed Basher Tarr, a British explosives expert with a penchant for colorful language and a fondness for causing controlled chaos. Cheadle shared anecdotes about working alongside Hollywood heavyweights like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon. He discussed the camaraderie on set and the unique chemistry that made the film successful.
