The television industry once again shines the spotlight on outstanding talent as the nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on July 15, 2025.


The nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards have been revealed, Severence leads the nominees with a total of 27 nominations for AppleTV+, including Outstanding Drama Series, where it will go up against Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Slow Horses and The White Lotus. The Penguin came in second with 24 nominations for HBO Max; followed by The Studio and The White Lotus with 23 nominations apiece for AppleTV+ and HBO Max. The Last of Us recieved 16 nominations for HBO Max, Andor and Hacks each recieved 14 nominations for Disney+ and HBO Max, and Adolescence, The Bear and The Pitt each recieved 13 nominations apiece for Netflix, Hulu, and HBO and Max. The Studio tied the record set by The Bear last year, for the most nominations in a single year for a comedy series. The AppleTV+ series will compete for Outstanding Comedy Series with Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking and What We Do in the Shadows. HBO Max scored the most nominations of all the platforms in nominaton.

There were however, some notable names and series left off of the nominations list this year. Notable snubs included past winners Squid Game, which saw its entire second season shut out of the nomination for 2025. Elisabeth Moss was also snubbed with The Handmaid’s Tale, once adored by voters at the Emmys recieving multiple nominations in 2019, and won Outstainding Drama Series in 2017. Cherry Jones was the only nomination the series recieved at the 77th Primetime Emmy nominations for her guest role. Jon Hamm was alos snubbed for Your Friends & Neighbors, which only recieved a nomination for its theme song.
