CRITICALLY AWARDED…

The Critics’ Choice Awards announced their film nominations for 2023 this Wednesday, and like most of the nominations coming out this award season the surprise frontrunner is Everything Everywhere All At Once! It led Wednesday’s nominations with 14 total nominations, followed by The Fabelmans with 11 nominations, and the nominations also introduced another surprise contender, Babylon, the film received 10 nominations from the Critics’ Choice Awards and was thought to have been possibly snubbed this awards season due to mixed buzz and a disappointing box office performance.

CELEBRATORY CRITICAL…

As they have done in the past two years, the film and television nominations were announced separately. The television nominations were made on December 6, 2022, and with the film nominations now announced on December 14, 2022, the full nomination list for 2023 is complete. In the television nominations, the ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary led the nominations with six nominations, and the sixth and final season of Better Caul Saul followed with five nominations. Netflix received a total of 28 nominations, 13 for film and 15 for television, the most for any studio or network for the sixth year in a row. The 28th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards will be presented on January 15, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California, and will be honoring the finest achievements in both films and television for 2022. The ceremony will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and be broadcast on The CW, Handler will be taking over the hosting duties from Taye Diggs, who had hosted the awards ceremony for four years consecutively.
