It was announced on November 5th, 2025, that Helen Mirren will be this year’s recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award honoring her magnetic presence on screen, with a craft unmatched in Hollywood, and an everlasting impact that clebrates her legacy in film and television. The award was presented at ‘Golden Eve’, Thursday, January 8, 2026 and aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

It was also announced on November 13, 2025, that Sarah Jessica Parker will be the recipient of this year’s Carol Burnett Award, recognizing the indelible mark her storytelling has left on our screens for decades, becoming an inspiration to generations of viewers with her charm, creativity, and extradordinary contributions to television. The award honors a career as iconic, fearless, and fabulous as Parker is. The award was presented at ‘Golden Eve’, Thursday, January 8, 2026 and aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

On January 9, 2026, Deadline Hollywood reported that the Golden Globes will not televise the presentation of the Best Original Score award due to time constraints. While the winner will still be announced during the ceremony, the moment will not air on CBS’ linear broadcast. Instead, the announcement will be revealed online, with a clip of the win recorded and distributed digitally to media outlets and across all Golden Globes platforms, including the official Golden Globes website.
Snubbed and Surprised in Gold..
A number of presumed awards-season contenders underperformed in this year’s Golden Globe nominations. Christy, the Sydney Sweeney starring boxing biopic, was completely shut out, including in the Best Actress category for its marquee lead. Similar fates befell the acclaimed nuclear thriller A House of Dynamite, the Jennifer Lopez and Tonatiuh led Kiss of the Spider Woman, and Wake Up Dead Man, the latest entry in the Knives Out series. Meanwhile, Wicked: For Good secured five nominations, only one fewer than last year’s Wicked, yet failed to land in several top-tier categories. The film missed nominations for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Director, extending director Jon M. Chu’s Golden Globes snub streak into a second consecutive year.

Although Sinners picked up seven nominations, the awards-season favorite failed to translate its critical momentum into widespread acting recognition, with only Michael B. Jordan nominated. Performances by Miles Caton, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, and Hailee Steinfeld were notably absent. Among the other individual snubs were Regina Hall (One Battle After Another) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Marty Supreme).

Several unexpected names appeared among this year’s Golden Globe nominees. Tessa Thompson (Hedda) and Julia Roberts (After the Hunt) were also recognized despite the film’s lukewarm reception. Jacob Elordi proved to be one of the ceremony’s more surprising double nominees, earning acting nominations in both film (Frankenstein) and television (The Narrow Road to the Deep North).

Another notable TV surprise came with Ashley Walters’ nomination for Adolescence. In terms of TV snubs, the Golden Globes’ acting nominations featured several notable omissions. Emmy winner Katherine LaNasa was shut out for her supporting role on The Pitt, while Abbott Elementary received a Best Comedy Series nomination without any acting recognition for its ensemble. Additional snubs included The Studio supporting actors Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn;
