One Rebrand After Another…
The nominations for the 2026 Screen Actors Guild Awards, now rebranded as the Actor Awards, were announced on January 7, 2026. One Battle After Another leads this years film Actor Awards nominations with seven, including one for Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture. Sinners took a bite out of second with five, also including the stunt ensemble nomination, Followed by Frankenstein, which also earned a stunt nomination, Hamnet, and Marty Supreme that round out for third. And all of the films are nominated for the big award of the night, Cast in a Motion Picture.

Quiet on the set! For the televison Actor Awards, The Studio produced the most with five nominations, rounding out at second was Adolescence and The White Lotus with four each, none of the series were nominated for Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series.

The nominations for the 32nd Annual Actor Awards were revealed by Heated Rivalry‘s Connor Storrie and Abbott Elemntary‘s Janelle James, and are presented by the actors union SAG-AFTRA, the nominees were announded in a live stream that aired on Netflix’s YouTube channel.



On December 18, 2025 it was announced that Harrison Ford will be the recipent of the 2026 SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.

One month before it, in November, it was announced that the SAG Awards were being rebranded as the Actor Awards with showrunner Jon Brockett and JoBeth Williams, actress and chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Awards Committee, saying in a joint statement, about the change, “A perfect next step in the show’s evolution.” When elaborting on the name change, they refrenced the actor that stands as the award, and to better associate the name of the awards ceremney with the award itself, that serves the actors in the union.
