Jonathan Rhys Meyers Reflects On The Tudors

In the following 2018 interview clip taken from a larger interview with BUILD Series, Jonathan Rhys Meyers reflects on playing Henry VIII in Showtime‘s The Tudors, which was the highest rated series for the network in three years. The Michael Hirst series ran for four seasons and premiered on April 1, 2007.

In the interview clip Meyers reflects on his fellow cast, in particular, Sam Neill (Cardinal Thomas Wolsey) Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn), and Henry Cavill (Charles Brandon) the many award nominations he received for the series, and how he applauds the United States — Meyers is a native of Ireland — for the way they reward film and television success and promote celebration within the film community. He also states that this process allows him to see his fellow castmates doing great film work so long after the series has ended.
