IT’S SHOWTIME..!

The Featured Television Blog for September is the HBO Original Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty! The sports drama television series is created by Max Borenstein and Jim Hecht for HBO and is based on the book, Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s written by Jeff Pearlman.

THE WINNING TIME TEAM…

The series features an ensemble cast led by  John C. ReillyJason ClarkeJason SegelGaby HoffmannRob Morgan, and Adrien Brody.  The first season chronicled the 1980s Showtime era of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, which started in late 1979, featuring the most notable NBA stars from the team, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The series premiered on March 6, 2022, and consisted of ten episodes, with the pilot episode being directed by Adam McKay. The season finale was on May 8, 2022, and the series was renewed for a second season in April 2022.
