The 83rd Golden Globe Awards is an upcoming annual awards ceremony honoring excellence in film and American television productions in 2025. One Globe After Another…

One Battle After Another battled it out for the award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, which were handed out Sunday night. The film also went to war for a revolutionary win of three more awards, including Best Supporting Female Actor – Motion Picture for Teyana Taylor and Best Director and Best Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson. Hamnet was named Best Motion Picture – Drama, and the film’s female lead Jessie Buckley had a Shakespearean win for Best Female Actor – Motion Picture – Drama.

Rose Byrne kicked her way to Best Female Actor – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, while Timothée Chalamet ping ponged his way to Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Marty Supreme. The Secret Agent Wagner Moura won Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Drama, and Sentimental Value sent Stellan Skarsgård home with Best Supporting Male Actor – Motion Picture.

KPop Demon Hunters, The Secret Agent and Sinners also battled it out for wins at the Golden Globes Sunday night. Taking the prize in the categories of Best Original Song, Best Motion Picture – Animated, Best Motion Picture – Non-English-Language, Best Original Score, and Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

The Pitt of Gold…

In the television categories, The Pitt battled it out to win Best Television Series -Drama at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, while Noah Wyle created no emergency winning Best Television Male Actor – Drama Series. Rhea Seehorn broke bad and won Best Television Female Actor – Drama Series for her drama Pluribus. The Studio wrote its ending to a win at the Golden Globes taking home Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, while Seth Rogen won Best Television Male Actor – Comedy Series for the Apple TV series. Hacks Jean Smart took home the Golden Globe for Best Television Female Actor – Musical or Comedy. Adolescence took home four awards at the Golden Globes, with Owen Cooper setting a record with his win for Best Supporting Male Actor for the limited series from Netflix, while Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty also landed a win for the series. Michelle Williams won for the FX limited series Dying for Sex, but was absent from the ceremony.

Golden Pod…

The inaugural award for Best Podcast went to Good Hang With Amy Poehler. An absent Ricky Gervais, who also did not attend, won Best Performance in a Stand-Up Comedy in Television for his Netflix comedy special Ricky Gervais: Mortality.

Golden Host…

Nikki Glaser returned for a second consecutive year and served as host to the evenings celebration of the best in film and television for 2025, which aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ in the United States. After going untelevised the previous year, the Golden Globes’ two Lifetime Achievement honors, the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the Carol Burnett Award, returned in an hour-long primetime special titled Golden Eve. The program aired on January 8, 2026, on CBS at 8 p.m. PT/ET, though the ceremony itself was held two days earlier at the Beverly Hilton. The special was also livestreamed on Paramount+ Premium; subscribers to the Essential tier were unable to watch live but were able to stream the event on demand the following day.

Helen Mirren received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, presented by Harrison Ford, with a guest appearance from last year’s honoree, Viola Davis. The Carol Burnett Award was bestowed upon Sarah Jessica Parker, who was joined onstage by the previous year’s recipient, Ted Danson.

Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Productions assembled a star-studded lineup of presenters for Sunday’s ceremony. Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner returned as executive producer-showrunners for the 2026 broadcast. Dick Clark Productions, which planned, hosted, and produced the event, is owned by Penske Media Eldridge.
